How to Turn Google Translate On or Off in Chrome
This article explains how to turn the Google Translate feature on or off in Google Chrome.
Google Chrome is a web browser made by Google. It helps you browse the internet, save your history, and manage your data.
Why use this feature? Chrome has a built-in tool that translates websites into your preferred language. This makes it easy to read content from all over the world.
What happens when done? You will be able to read foreign websites in your own language or block the translation tool if you prefer to see the original text.
Enable or disable Google Translate in Chrome
Chrome can detect when a page is in a different language and offers to translate it for you. You can manage these settings easily.
First, open the Google Chrome browser.
Click the Customize and Control icon (the three vertical dots in the top right corner) and select Settings.

On the left panel, click Languages.

On the right side, click on Translate. You can also type chrome://settings/languages into your address bar to go there directly.
Toggle the Use Google Translate switch to the On or Off position.

Using the translation icon
When you visit a page in a foreign language, a Google Translate icon will appear in your address bar. Click this icon to trigger the translation for the current page manually.
Automatic settings
Chrome automatically detects the language of the page you are viewing. When the translation pop-up appears, you can select the Always translate option. This ensures that every time you visit a site in that language, Chrome will translate it for you without asking again.
You can also use the Add languages button to choose specific languages for automatic translation. To stop translating a language, click the delete button next to it. You can also add languages to the Never offer to translate list if you prefer to read them in their original form.
Exit Google Chrome when done.
Conclusion
Managing your translation settings helps you browse the web more comfortably. It allows you to explore global content without language barriers. If you have questions, please leave a comment below.
